Becoming a Zero

Jan 21 2015

These two videos have been the stepping stone I needed to begin to understand more what God desires of us. I guarantee you will not regret watching these if you make the time. My biggest take away from all of this is Humility and becoming a zero before God. Below each video I have detailed my personal notes from each one. Feel free to provide feedback and ask questions that you may have here in this post! I am always looking forward to what is to come and for what God has in store for those who submit to Him and choose to seek him fervently.

1:

Jesus Pleased the Father by His Humility

2 Corinthians 5:9-10. Our ambition is to please God: whether at home or absent (On earth & in Heaven). Philippians 2:5-11. Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus. Jesus was equal to God, but did not regard it as a thing to be grasped. His first step was to become a Zero (Phil 2:6). Your attitude determines whether or not you please God (Phil 2:3). 1 Corinthians 3:6-7. Paul recognizes that he is a zero. Galatians 6. Recognize that you are nothing without Christ. Daniel 4:33-34. King Nebuchadnezzar understood this truth when he was made into a nothing. HUMILITY. HUMILITY. HUMILITY. What it means to be a Christ follower.

2:

Jesus Came to Build Fellowship

1 John 1:2-3. Eternal life manifested with us is to have fellowship with one another. God has given us His Word to give us guidance such as a “manufacturer’s instructions.” 1 John 1:7. Sin hinders fellowship with the father. We must walk in the light (Eph 5). Acts 24:15-16. Strive to have a blameless conscience. Both with God & man. Strive for righteousness. Luke 11:34. Keep your conscience clean as your eyes. One spec of dust will distract you, many specs will eventually make you blind. God divides Christians into two categories: The Humble and The Proud. He Supports the Humble 100% and opposes the Proud 100%. Ephesians 1:18. Let the eyes of your heart be enlightened to know that walking in light is to know God as our Abba, Father. The Devil deceives us of this. 1 Corinthians 12:12. Fellowship with God leads to fellowship with one another. You must live by God’s head (Jesus). He is the Body of the Church. You must be in fellowship with God to understand the value in all others. 1 Corinthians 12:21-24. God gives more honor to the member which lacks. (Poem: There is No Indispensable Man or Woman) 2 Timothy 2:2-3. How to build up: Understand you are indispensable. Be faithful. There is never a church in the New Testament that relies on one man. Jesus is the head, not the shepherds. A plurality of leadership is needed. Titus 1:5. Acts 14:23. Isaiah 11:3. Jesus would not make a judgement on what he hears or sees. He always sought God for direction in all things. Matthew 16:18-23. Philippians 2:2-4. Any voice that leads you to anything else other than death to self is Satan. Make the vertical most important with God over the horizontal which is our experience here on this earth.

Transparency

Jan 07 2015

I am opaque. Opacity.

I am a foggy mirror. I am darkened. I am cloudy.

Found behind a mask of contentment, is a spirit burdened with lies and resentment.

The truth robs me of any form of privacy. I’ll just keep the pain inside because I don’t like transparency. I will drown in turmoil because I won’t let anyone in.

But I want freedom.

I want to feel a strength that’s like a rushing wind. I want to know there is something greater than what I find within.

Instead I turn to people for joy, and people disappoint. People turn me to God, but I don’t see the point. They try to crack me like a nut, but I will not break.

I am opaque.

I want to understand God, but I don’t want Him to understand me.

I stand still like a weeping willow tree, I am tangled in my own branches. My leaves are covering my mouth and when I try to open up, I let out a silent scream.

The haze of clouded judgment from a heavy heart prevails. My chamber of secrets is locked and the ship of trust has sailed.

BEHOLD, a storm of glory!

The breath of God has blown a hole right through my solid trunk. I try to lift my roots to run but I’m frozen in awe of His beauty. My branches unravel, I am humbled at His feet. I reach out to Him and He takes my hand. He looks right through me, He knows me in ways I can never understand.

Redemption comes for the ones in chains once they embrace their freedom.

Now I stayed in shackles long enough, it’s apparent I don’t need them.

I am a river.

He is living water inside of me that surges through my veins. Clarity, the light in me.

Transparency.

He makes all things new. I finally want to be transparent.

Take the time to consider these words. How powerful it is to be fully transparent. Anonymously consider…
